For many years, Christine and I have walked people through homes in many different locations around Maryland. People are always interested in how a home presents itself, but there is one question that comes up more than most. Outside of the school system question, the question that is asked most often is "Where is the nearest Costco?". Because of this, I've wondered what impact a Costco might have on residential real estate prices. Luckily for me, there are others that have wondered the same thing. Recently, it was demonstrated that Costco openings improved property values by as much as 7.9% within a five mile area around the store.
